Reverend Kris Tate is an Ordained Deacon serving as the Church Administrator of Acts 2. Kris is married to his lovely wife, Rev. Kinsie Mahaffey Tate, an ordained minister in the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Before his appointment to Acts 2, Kris served the three-point charge of Shidler/Foraker/Grainola in the Bartlesville District of the Oklahoma Annual Conference. While serving this appointment, Kris had the opportunity to help several individuals commit their  lives to Christ.

 

Rev. Tate graduated from Phillips Theological Seminary in Tulsa, OK with his Master of Divinity. He is also currently enrolled in the Doctorate of Ministry program in Church Leadership at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington DC.  Before entering the ministry, Kris worked in the political arena in several capacities ranging from campaign director to deputy director of a political action committee.

 

 

 

Rev. Nancy Hamilton

Rev. Nancy Hamilton is an Ordained Deacon fulfilling her call to full time ministry as the Minister of Christian Education at Acts 2. Rev. Nancy currently serves as our Children's Minister and cares for those ages birth through 5th grade. Rev. Hamilton also conducts our children's sermons during each service on Sunday mornings. Nancy has a passion for encouraging and equipping adults and children to live out their faith in everyday life.

 

Nancy graduated from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY with her Masters of Christian Education.  Before joining the Acts 2 staff she served at both Elk City and Putnam City United Methodist Churches.

Natalie Oates believes that God brought her to Acts 2.  She awoke one morning to a “freebie” newspaper in her driveway with Acts 2’s ad for office help in it, meeting the exact work specifications she had been contemplating. Natalie visited Acts 2 for the first time on the day of her interview, and has been here ever since.

Scott’s love of music began early in life with guitar lessons at the age of 10.  By the time he was in high school, he was spending his summers touring the country and performing with multiple drum and bugle corps  including a year with the Phantom Regiment from Rockford, Illinois. 

  Scott began his college career as a music education major at Oklahoma State University where he met his wife, Cynthia, while playing in the OSU drum line. In 2000, he completed his Bachelors degree in Organizational Management from Oklahoma Christian University and went on to receive a Masters of Business Administration in 2004.

 

Scott is currently employed at the Charles Machine Works, Inc. (Ditch Witch), in Perry, OK, where for the past 14 years he has been part of the information technology division.

 

Scott began filling in on bass and percussion with the Acts 2 Worship team in 2006.  He and his family became members of Acts 2 in 2007 and shortly after he became a regular member of the worship team. In the fall of 2009, Scott accepted a part-time staff position as Musician Coordinator.

 

Scott and Cynthia have two children, Kourtnee and Sean. He enjoys spending time with his family and playing as many different instruments as he can get his hands on. Scott says “that it wasn’t until I started leading worship, that I truly discovered why God had given me my musical abilities.  I feel truly blessed to be able to share them with my Acts2 family.”
