Spiritual Growth Opportunities
”All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness…” 2 Timothy 3:16
Acts 2 is committed to the spiritual growth of our guests and members alike. We offer a variety of ways for people to grow in their spiritual journey.
In addition to learning opportunities for children
, we offer classes for adults on Sunday mornings at 9:45 & 11:00am. Members of Acts 2 lead the classes and new people may join them at any time throughout the year. Both Sunday school classes currently meet in the Temporary Buildings.
Small Groups of eight to twelve people meet in the homes of Acts 2 members throughout the Edmond and Oklahoma City area. Each small group studies a topic of their own choosing, in addition to taking part in at least one service project each year. Small groups allow our members to connect with others within the Acts 2 community and develop deep relationships. Check out the Small Groups page for more information.
Disciple Bible Study: Acts 2 offers several in-depth Bible studies, which begin each fall. Participants commit to studying the word of God with eight to twelve other people.
- Disciple I is an in-depth look at the entire Bible from Genesis to Revelation. Students commit to reading approximately 30 minutes per day and to a 2.5 hour group session each week for 34 weeks. By the end of the 34 weeks, students will have read about 80% of the Bible and have a greater understanding of God’s story and their place in God’s plan for the world.
- Disciple II is a 32 week course for graduates of Disciple I and covers Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Acts.
- Disciple III and Disciple IV are 32 week studies in which students delve into the Old Testament and the New Testament .
- Christian Believer is a 30 week study of the classical doctrines of the Christian faith.
Alpha: Alpha is a 10 week course in the basics of the Christian faith and is ideal for those who are seeking to discover more about Christianity or for those who are new Christians. Each week, students gather for a meal, a video presentation, and group discussion. Alpha is informal, comfortable, and does not require any outside reading. It is open to everyone.
Other Opportunities: Throughout the year, other short-term classes are offered which usually are related to a specific topic or interest. Check with the church office for classes currently being offered.
