Acts 2 UMC sponsors a sports and recreation ministry that promotes our strategy and goal. Consistent with our strategy, found in Acts 2:42, our sports and recreation program serves as a form of fellowship for members and others who attend Acts 2. In harmony with our goal, “to help non-religious and non-active Christians become radical Christ followers,” this ministry is also open to anyone who would like to participate. Our outreach mission is focused particularly on those without church homes. Accordingly, both church members and non-members alike are welcome to participate in our sports and recreation ministry.
In the spirit of deepening relationships with one another and becoming more dedicated followers of Christ, the guiding principles for all of our sports teams and recreational ministries are:
- To glorify God in our attitudes and actions.
- To provide an opportunity for Christian fellowship, recreation and athletic competition.
- To promote principles of good sportsmanship and teamwork.

As part of this ministry, Acts 2 enters teams in local softball leagues in North Oklahoma City or Edmond (both men’s and co-recreational teams) and a men’s flag football league. Additionally, we are always looking for other opportunities for our members and guests to get involved. This could include anything from soccer, to volleyball, to golf, or board games! Acts 2 welcomes and strongly encourages those who participate in our sports and recreation ministry, to also visit an Acts 2 worship service and explore our other ministries.
