The men and women of our military display such love and dedication by committing their lives to the protection and security of our country.  Often this dedication to service leads to deployment far away from family, comfort, and personal security.  It is the goal of this Acts 2 UMC ministry to support our active duty personnel -- both members of our church and the military at-large. 

 

Three components of the support offered to military personnel are prayer, care drives, and family care.  During active deployment, an organized prayer team lifts the individual and his or her family in prayer.  The congregation as a whole is also asked to pray daily for the service members.  Care drives consist of collecting letters, supplies, and treats for the soldiers.  These items are sent as care packages during deployment.  Support is not offered only to the military personnel; care for the family they leave at home is also a large component of this ministry.  The Acts 2 UMC community organizes prepared meals, help with childcare, and other general support for the family while their loved ones are serving away from home.  It is our goal to make the separation from family as easy as possible for all involved.
